Activity:
Determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral blood neutrophils using a concentration range of 10.0-100.0 ng/mL.

Storage Instruction:
Store at -20°C on dry atmosphere for 2 years.
After reconstitution with deionized water, store at 4°C for 1 month or store at -20°C for 6 months.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the CXC chemokine family. This chemokine is one of the major mediators of the inflammatory response. This chemokine is secreted by several cell types. It functions as a chemoattractant, and is also a potent angiogenic factor. This gene is believed to play a role in the pathogenesis of bronchiolitis, a common respiratory tract disease caused by viral infection.
